中共巨型大使馆一旦在伦敦建成,必将加剧中共的间谍活动与跨国镇压,严重威胁流亡者及英国社会的整体安全;

London Protest Against CCP Mega-Embassy: Defending Security and Human Rights in the UK
On the afternoon of 15 November 2025, London once again witnessed a large-scale protest against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The core focus of this demonstration remained the same: to stop the construction of the CCP’s planned mega-embassy in London, and to oppose the use of diplomatic facilities for surveillance and transnational repression.
Among the marchers, the involvement of the China Democracy Party (CDP) was particularly notable. Liu Weimin, Vice Chairperson of the China Democracy Party National Joint Headquarters (CDP), attended in person and stood together with the Party’s organisations in the UK, making clear his opposition to the CCP’s plan to build a mega-embassy in London. Ma Yinglai, Chairperson of the China Democracy Party National Joint Headquarters (Overseas) UK committee(CDP), Vice Chairperson Cui Shaohua, Organisation Secretary Zhang Bin and Party member Chen Shanguo all gathered at the protest site; they not only joined the procession, but also played an active role in organising the event.
That afternoon, over a thousand Hong Kong citizens and members of various pro-democracy groups gathered near the Great Fire Memorial in the City of London. The memorial, located in a prominent and symbolically significant position, began the protest with participants holding banners and placards expressing their concerns about the CCP's mega embassy project and its potential risks. Their stance was clear and firm: against the construction of this mega embassy and against the CCP's expansion of influence in Britain.
With the support of loudspeakers, the march began from the memorial area and slowly proceeded towards the former site of the Royal Mint, chanting slogans along the way. The site, where the CCP plans to build its mega embassy, became a symbolic target of the demonstration. Throughout the march, the participants proceeded in an orderly manner under police supervision, demonstrating their determination to conduct a peaceful protest within the framework of the rule of law. Among the protesters, the China Democracy Party was particularly prominent. Liu Weimin, Vice Chairman of the National Joint Command of the China Democracy Party, was present at the scene, standing alongside members of the party's various organizations in the UK, clearly expressing opposition to the CCP's plan to build a giant embassy in London. Ma Yinglai, Chairman of the China Democracy Party UK Committee, Vice Chairman Cui Shaohua, Organization Secretary Zhang Bin, and member Chen Shangguo also participated in the march. They not only participated in the march but also actively assisted with on-site coordination.
During the protest, they organised a “human chain with placards” action. Participants stood shoulder to shoulder, holding signs opposing CCP transnational repression, condemning CCP espionage activities, and calling for the protection of UK national security and the rule of law. This simple yet powerful form of protest created a visible line of resistance and made it easier for the media to capture clear images of the message being conveyed.
Throughout the event, numerous journalists were present to film, take photographs and conduct interviews. They asked participants about the purpose of the demonstration, their concerns regarding the CCP’s mega-embassy plan, and their own backgrounds and political positions. Through media coverage, the message of this protest will not remain confined to those physically present, but will reach a wider audience in British society and abroad.
Why We Must Speak Out
For many of those who joined the protest, the motivation is not only personal, but also rooted in concern for the broader future of British society.
For Chinese and Hong Kong exiles, and for others who have fled CCP persecution, the UK represents a place where they hope to live and speak freely under the protection of law. If a CCP mega-embassy is built in London, the safe space they have tried to find here will inevitably be eroded. The oppressive system they escaped from may, in effect, reappear around them in a different form.
For the UK as a whole, this is a broader question: is it acceptable to allow a regime widely criticised for human rights abuses to establish a large and potentially highly intrusive facility at the heart of its capital? This is not only about diplomatic relations, but about whether the UK is willing to compromise on its own core values and institutional safeguards.
A Call for Wider Support
In light of all this, the China Democracy Party UK Committee has issued a clear call following the protest:
Once built, the CCP’s mega-embassy in London will intensify its espionage and transnational repression, posing serious threats to exiles and to the wider safety of UK society.
The UK government and all sectors of society should fully recognise the long-term dangers of this project, and, from the standpoint of national security, human rights protection and the rule of law, take the necessary steps to halt its progress.
We believe this standpoint is not only that of the China Democracy Party National Joint Headquarters (Overseas) UK committee(CDP), but also reflects the concerns of many people who care about the future of the UK and the defence of freedom and human rights.
The protest in London on 15 November is only one part of a longer struggle. Going forward, we will continue, through peaceful, open and lawful means, to work together with Hong Kong groups, democratic organisations and human rights groups. We will keep raising our voices to the UK government, local councils and the general public with one consistent message:
See through the CCP’s true nature and political schemes; firmly oppose the construction of the CCP’s mega-embassy in London; and resolutely reject the expansion of its espionage and transnational repression on British soil.
