China Democracy Party National Headquarters (Overseas) UK Committee: Protest Against the CCP’s Persecution of the Democracy Movement and Demand the Release of Democratic Activists

On June 30, 2025, China Democracy Party National Headquarters (Overseas) UK Committee held a protest in front of the Chinese (CCP) government’s embassy in London, UK, openly condemning the CCP’s systematic suppression of Chinese civil society. Participants held up party flags and banners, shouting slogans to express their positions and demands.

Exposing the Export of Totalitarian Ideology

Speeches during the protest repeatedly focused on the expansion of the CCP’s totalitarian ideology both domestically and internationally. Liu Weimin, Vice Chairman of the China Democracy Party National Headquarters, stated in his speech:

“Communism is an evil specter born in Europe. The Soviet Union and the Chinese (CCP) government have both been deeply harmed by it. Now, the CCP is once again trying to push communist totalitarian ideology onto the world, attempting to dominate the globe.”

In recent years, multiple international research institutions have reported that the CCP is attempting to expand its influence internationally and weaken criticism of its human rights record through media control, economic infiltration, and external propaganda.

Opposing the Persecution of the Democracy Movement

Speakers unanimously emphasized that the democracy movement has suffered severe repression under the Chinese (CCP) government. Ma Yinglai, Chairman of the CDP National Headquarters (Overseas) UK Committee, declared:

“All of our party members strongly protest the CCP’s persecution of democratic activists and firmly demand that the CCP immediately release all democracy advocates! We will continue our struggle until the CCP collapses!”

In recent years, the Chinese (CCP) government has continued to arrest lawyers, writers, and rights defenders under charges such as “subverting state power.” International human rights organizations believe that such high-pressure policies are destroying the basic trust within society and are intensifying global vigilance against the Chinese (CCP) government.

Cui Shaohua, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee, also stated:

“We must expose the monstrous crimes of the CCP’s human rights persecution. We must overthrow the CCP’s totalitarian tyranny! We must build a democratic and free China, and achieve freedom of speech and freedom of belief.”

Multiple United Nations human rights bulletins have pointed out that the CCP government continues to restrict press, religious, and speech freedoms, resulting in the forced dissolution or silencing of numerous civil society organizations.

Hong Kong as a Warning and a Common Cause

During the protest, several speakers specifically mentioned how the situation in Hong Kong has impacted freedom across China. Pastor Wu of the Hong Kong Huafu Church stated at the scene:

“We are fighters against the CCP! We will fight for freedom in Hong Kong and China!”

Since the implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law, media shutdowns and mass arrests of pro-democracy figures have occurred frequently, becoming an issue of grave concern for the international community. Pastor Wu’s speech reminded people that Hong Kong has become a preview of the CCP’s governance model being extended to all of society.

The Long-Term Responsibility of the Democracy Movement

Regarding the direction of future struggle, Huang Jun, Vice Chairman of the CDP National Headquarters (Overseas) UK Committee, emphasized:

“Overthrowing the CCP is our inescapable responsibility! Building a democratic China is the lifelong mission we will fight for!”

Since the 1990s, exiled democracy activists have consistently launched initiatives and protests overseas, bringing China’s democracy issues onto the international stage.

Zhang Bin, Minister of Organization, stated in his speech:

“We strongly protest the CCP’s persecution of religious groups, human rights lawyers, and democratic activists! We strongly protest the CCP’s organ harvesting and releasing of viruses! We strongly demand the trial of Xi Jinping! Overthrow the Communist Party!”

Multiple international media outlets and human rights organizations have raised concerns about forced organ harvesting and the CCP’s suppression of information during the pandemic, calling on the Chinese (CCP) government to accept independent investigations.

A Cry for Freedom

As the protest drew to a close, Chen Shanguo, a core member of the China Democracy Party National Headquarters (Overseas) (CDP), raised a loudspeaker and led the crowd in chanting:

“Down with the Communist Party! Down with Xi Jinping! Freedom for China! Freedom for Hong Kong! Freedom for Taiwan!”

The clear and powerful slogans echoed multiple times in front of the embassy, becoming the most resonant voice of the day.

At the conclusion of the protest, the China Democracy Party National Headquarters (Overseas) UK Committee called on the Chinese (CCP) government to immediately and unconditionally release all democratic activists, human rights lawyers, and prisoners of conscience, cease all repression and persecution, and guarantee the most basic rights of Chinese citizens.

The struggle will not stop. Freedom will ultimately prevail.
