党员胡晓则用英文发言指出:“My name is Xiaohu. I am a Chinese teacher. I remember what happened in fourth June nineteen eighty nine. I remember how you kill people by tanks. You killed more than two thousand and six hundred students in Tiananmen Square. Everybody remember: truth will rise! We are here for the truth! We are here for justice!”

London Protest Marks 36th Anniversary of June Fourth Massacre — Overseas Democracy Activists Vow: Never Forget, Never Forgive

On the afternoon of June 4, 2025, the UK Committee of the China Democracy Party National Headquarters (Overseas) — also known as CDP (Overseas) — organized a solemn memorial event in front of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China (CCP) in London to mark the 36th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre. The event was led by Chairman Ma Yinglai and Organizing Minister Zhang Bin, with participation from several human rights and pro-democracy organizations.

The rally aimed to honor the innocent civilians and students brutally killed by the Chinese (CCP) government on June 4, 1989, in Tiananmen Square, and to call upon the international community to continue paying attention to China’s worsening human rights situation and its long-delayed democratization process.

Participants included CDP members Ma Yinglai, Zhang Bin, Chen Shanguo, Hu Xiao, and Yang Yunhe, among many overseas Chinese, Hong Kong citizens, and international democracy supporters. The atmosphere was solemn and orderly.

Throughout the rally, representatives from various organizations delivered speeches reaffirming their commitment to remembering the victims of June 4th and advocating for universal values: democracy, freedom, and human rights. They urged the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to confront its crimes, release prisoners of conscience, and end authoritarian rule.

The highlight of the event was the presence of Wu’er Kaixi, a prominent leader of the 1989 student movement, who delivered a moving speech. Having once directly negotiated with CCP leaders and later forced into exile, Wu’er Kaixi reflected on the movement that changed the world’s understanding of the Chinese people’s desire for democracy.

He stated, “The blood of June Fourth was not shed in vain. It awakened the nation’s conscience and planted the seeds of democracy in China.” Though 36 years have passed, he emphasized, justice is never absent. He encouraged those who still believe in freedom to stay committed: “Never forget. Never give up. Never forgive.”

International media outlets were present at the rally to report on the event. Many participants took photos with Wu’er Kaixi to express their solidarity in the pursuit of truth and justice.

Zhang Bin, Organizing Minister of the CDP UK Committee, declared in his speech:

“June Fourth will never die. The red dragon will fall!”

He recounted the horror of that day in 1989, when unarmed students and citizens were gunned down and crushed under tanks. “The Tiananmen Square was stained with blood because young people dared to oppose corruption and demand reform, free speech, and democracy,” he said.

“The CCP labeled them as rioters and criminals, hunted them down, and created one of the worst crimes against humanity in modern Chinese history.”

Taiwan’s TTV News reporter Hung Yafang conducted interviews with CDP representatives.

Organizing Minister Zhang Bin said:

“Last year, more than 19,000 members of the Church of Almighty God were arrested by the CCP. We must speak out for religious believers and demand an end to the persecution of Christians and faith communities.”

Zhang continued, “Thirty-six years later, the CCP still censors the truth and rules through fear. But we will never forget! The spirits of the fallen now light our path in the struggle for democracy. We believe: the CCP will fall, and freedom will rise over China. Reclaiming China is urgent. A democratic China is inevitable.”

Chen Shanguo, a CDP member, stated:

“We are not just here to mourn history. We are here to expose an ongoing state crime that has never been held accountable!”

He recalled how the CCP deployed heavily armed troops to suppress peaceful protesters and silence the people with bullets and tanks.

“My name is Chen Shanguo. I raise our party flag and marched toward the embassy gate, not for a show, but out of fury against this butcher regime,” he said.

“The CCP still denies its crimes, censors history, persecutes religious believers, and labels overseas dissidents as ‘hostile forces.’ It is an anti-people, anti-human regime. To remember June Fourth is to ensure history does not repeat. We must carry forward the will of the victims and push for a China governed by rule of law, human rights, and freedom. Down with the CCP! Let us rebuild a China without fear and without lies!”

CDP member Hu Xiao gave a short but forceful statement in English:

“My name is Xiaohu. I am a Chinese teacher. I remember what happened on June 4, 1989. You killed more than 2,600 students with tanks in Tiananmen Square. Everybody remember: truth will rise! We are here for the truth! We are here for justice!”

As evening fell, participants stayed on, with some beginning a hunger strike in remembrance of the victims. More Hong Kong groups arrived in solidarity, and candles were lit along the embassy walls in quiet tribute to those lost.

Chairman Ma Yinglai remarked:

“The so-called stability and prosperity of China is a propaganda illusion. Ordinary citizens live under harsh exploitation and suppression. What we see at the grassroots level is pain, not progress.”

Chen Shanguo, holding a “Taiwan Independence” banner, told the media:

“We hope Taiwan never becomes like us. In mainland China, the situation is dire—censorship, repression, and human rights violations are rampant. The CCP’s push to ‘unify Taiwan’ isn’t about sovereignty; it’s because they fear the democratic model of the Republic of China. They fear freedom.”

The protest continued until 10:30 p.m., when participants gradually dispersed. Many agreed to return next year. As Chairman Ma Yinglai concluded, “We will carry the spirit of the June Fourth martyrs. For China’s freedom, for human rights, for democracy—we will keep speaking, keep resisting, keep fighting until the CCP is judged and overthrown, and a free, democratic China is built.”
